Injury Update: Laura Davies

Following MRI results last month, the club can now confirm that City midfielder Laura Davies has suffered a torn meniscus and will undergo surgery after injuring her knee during pre-season.

While we will miss her presence on the pitch, Laura will remain actively involved with the club, taking on new responsibilities during her recovery period. Laura will join Emma Congrave and Jenn Higgs, who both sustained long-term injuries last season that have kept them off the pitch for an extended period.

The recovery process for players with long-term injuries can be gruelling, both mentally and physically. Therefore, players with long-term injuries will join first team coach, Lauren McMurchie in a group centring around injury and recovery. As an ex-professional footballer, Lauren has also endured several knee injuries and since retiring, uses her experiences to support athletes off the pitch.

Alongside working with this group, Laura will collaborate off the pitch with CEO, Nicole Allison and Vice-Captain, Cerys Dolloway on the club's community projects.

We are fully behind Laura and look forward to seeing her back in action as soon as possible.
