Delight for Worcester City Women Reserves as they advance to the County Cup final.
Written by Dan Keley
Last Sunday, Worcester City Women Reserves booked their place in the WFA County Cup final following a 2-1 victory against Droitwich Spa Ladies. Jacqueline Corazza and Ellie Roberts were the goal scorers to send Worcester City Women Reserves to the final.
Manager Katie Heath gave us her thoughts on the performance and also looks ahead to the final.
“The team has continued to make us proud week on week, they showed true grit against a very strong physical Droitwich team who up until the week prior were undefeated in 2025.
The players deserve the praise. They executed the game plan and gave everything for each other and the badge, as staff we couldn’t be prouder.
Looking ahead to the final it’s another chance to make history for the club against strong favourites Kidderminster Harriers, but my players are up for the challenge and have worked extremely hard to get to this point it been a journey and a challenge at times this season with a squad and staff rebuild, but representing and leading the reserves in management this season has been a privilege and we have plans to finish this season strong.”

We caught up with players Ellie Roberts, Lottie Watson and Gemma Lee following last Sunday’s win.
Ellie Roberts – Scored In The Last Two Rounds
“Sunday’s semi-final was a competitive game against a challenging opposition which highlighted the togetherness we have as a team which we’ve demonstrated all season.
It’s been great to experience! The team have played high quality cup football this year and as a team we have continued to fight to the end. We’re all looking forward to the final!”
Lottie Watson – Used To Play For Droitwich
“As a team we’re really excited about reaching the final for the second year running, we knew heading into the game against Droitwich that it would be a tough game, physically and mentally.
All the girls played amazingly and fought hard for the win so hopefully we can take that same energy to the final.”
Gemma Lee – Joined City Midway Through The Season
“Being in this position, a cup final, shows the combination of resilience and focus this team has, to manage games through all stages to the last whistle.
The way Worcester City Women have welcomed me this second half of the season, has been second to none! The cooperation with them all is allowing my performances to reflect my appreciation, which isn’t going to stop.
We’re all proud and deserving of this opportunity, one which I know all the coaching staff, team and I will grab with both hands.”
Worcester City Women Reserves will face Kidderminster Harriers Women on Sunday 27th April at Worcestershire FA’s County Sports Ground with a scheduled kick off time of 1:30pm. We look forward to seeing all the WCWFC fans there, cheering the team on!
