Worcester City Women FC Announces Exciting Move to Sixways Stadium
Worcester City Women FC is delighted to announce a thrilling new chapter in its history as it makes Sixways Stadium its new home from the 23/24 season.
The standalone women’s club has moved to Sixways after two years of playing at Claines Lane and hopes the move will continue to boost attendance and the growth of women’s football in the area.
The artificial grass pitch at Sixways has been certified by the Football Association and provides a fantastic setting for women’s football on a Sunday afternoon.
Worcester City Women FC CEO, Nicole Allison said: ‘"This is an incredibly exciting moment for our club, our fans, and the entire community. We played our last home game of the 22/23 season here and the experience was fantastic - all the players, coaches and fans loved it.’
‘Part of our mission at WCWFC is to grow women and girls’ football in the area and attract top talent, and being at Sixways is a key part of that. We can grow our fan base and reach, ensure a great playing surface all year round and provide a fun, safe and engaging experience for all fans.’
‘Sixways' is more than just a venue for our matches; it will be a hub for community engagement, and we’ve already been part of some great events held here to foster a deeper connection with the fans and residents of Worcester.’
WCWFC Development Team will also get to experience some matches at Sixways in the upcoming season.
Nicole said: ‘By making Sixways our home, we can offer a fantastic football experience for our fans by hosting some fixtures as double headers with our Development Team and First Team playing on the same day. This will benefit the community and put Worcester on the map for women’s football.’
