After settling in well to life at Worcester City Women, get to know Evie and how her journey has led to her joining us at the club.
Can you tell us about what position you play for Worcester City Women and what you love about playing in that role?
“At the moment I’d say I’m playing an attacking midfielder kind of role; I like to bring a little bit of creativity to the team.”
What inspired you to get into football and how has your journey led you to Worcester City Women?
“I’d say that the inspiration came from my Dad, when we were younger, we used to watch a lot of football, and then I started getting into a boys’ team when I was younger and here I am now.
... I was just looking for a new opportunity really after leaving my previous club. I had a little bit of a break from football and I’m from Worcester myself so having this opportunity to come to play for Worcester is amazing really.”
What does a typical match day look like for you, and do you have any pre-game rituals?
“I don’t really have a lot of pre-game rituals, I always have my oats when I wake up in the morning and then I’ll always have some pasta.”
How do you like to spend your time and what are your hobbies and interests?
“A big of hobby of mine is CrossFit, going to the gym...It’s something I really enjoy doing, I like being active.
I’m currently doing a master’s degree so that probably takes a lot of my time right now.”
Who’s your biggest influence in football and how has that shaped the player you are today?
“Probably my Dad, he was the one who got me into football, and he’s always been by my side since, he comes to every game no matter how far away it is, so I’d definitely say probably my family actually as a whole.”
